A crowd of 5,124 partied on Sunday night at the Sands Steel Stage like it was a Friday night.

Dierks Bentley put on a high-energy 80-minute show of country music that rocked strong and was full of “surprises.”

Fellow country star Randy Houser showed up towards the end, with Bentley expressing suprise that he just happened to be there, and Houser joining him in the boisterous “Somewhere on a Beach,” the lead single off his new album “Black,” and the title of the tour. (Houser is actually out with Bentley on his “Somewhere on a Beach Tour,” and has played a bigger part in other shows.).

For the encore, the rowdy “Drunk on a Plane,” the video showed what looked to be runway, after which the front of a airplane, named “Dude Air,” rolled out from the area below the drummer’s platform, and Bentley, in pilot’s suit and hat emerged from the cockpit. As he sang the hit party song, Houser joined him on stage, followed by Tucker Beatherd, lead singer for the opening act, then the rest of his band and a gaggle of women who had been backstage.
